Leadership Essentials Program
The Leadership Essentials Program is for leaders with leadership responsibilities in a school, equipping leaders with the insights, skills and tools needed to create the conditions that enables success for themselves, their teams, and students overall.
Designed to align with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and Middle Leaders, and to also support non-teacher leaders. Our program fosters leadership that inspires positive change, elevates teaching quality, and supports school leaders to develop their leadership toolkit. Through practical experiences, mentorship, and a strong focus on local contexts, we enhance participants leadership capability while equipping them with the skills and knowledge to help them lead, develop, and support others in the education sector.
Intended Outcomes:
Develop and broaden your understanding of leadership practices, to build and enhance your leadership identity
Leverage a strengths-based approach to better understand your unique leadership capabilities
Deep dive into the art and practice of emotional intelligence to add to your leadership toolkit
Build and enhance your communication and coaching skills to further develop capability in others
Explore and practice the essentials of project and change management to increase your effectiveness in leading projects and managing change
This 5-month program includes:
Four 2.5-hour webinars
Three one-day workshops (if virtual for SEM2, 6 half days)
One personal diagnostic to enhance learning and growth
Continuous learning between formal sessions
Support, coaching, and networking
Independent Schools Queensland is partnering with Thriving Minds Global to deliver a program aimed at both teaching and non-teaching school staff. Participation in this program will equip you with transformative skills and innovative practices to drive excellence, inclusivity, and resilience in our schools and communities. This course will cover leadership development, change management, project management and building capability in others.
